Çanakkale State Hospital Coronary Intensive Care Unit Opened
The intensive care bed capacity increased by 13 percent with the intensive care unit donated by Doğu Biga Mining (Alamos Gold Inc.) in Çanakkale, where the number of Covid-19 cases has increased rapidly. The number of available 72 adult intensive care beds increased by 13 percent to 81 with the 9-bed secondary level coronary intensive care unit added to Mehmet Akif Ersoy State Hospital.
Çanakkale Provincial Health Director Ali Taşçı issued a statement on the subject and said, “As the health community, we have been struggling and working heartily since March 2020 without considering the concept of overtime by sacrificing the time from our families. We have ensured a successful process in the pandemic with the investments we have made in the last 4 years and the balanced staff distribution in our health facilities. I would like to express my gratitude to our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, our honorable Governor, our Group Vice President Mr. Bülent Turan, and our Deputy Jülide İskenderoğlu for the realization of these investments. I also would like to thank Doğu Biga Mining-Alamos Gold on behalf of Çanakkale, for the 9-bed secondary level intensive care unit provided to Mehmet Akif Ersoy State Hospital during the pandemic, which are needed more than any other time in the secondary and tertiary level health services.
9 more beds were added to 72 adult intensive care beds available at Mehmet Akif Ersoy State Hospital thus increasing it to 81, a total of 13 percent and were brought into the service of Çanakkale. May Allah be pleased with all those who have helped. May Allah let us not need these places, but let’s us access it incase we need it.
The pandemic continues worldwide and we have to comply to ‘Good Hygiene, Wearing Masks and Social Distance’ without compromising. This is not just a war for the health community, but for all humanity. I hope that this pandemic will be over with the least harm possible and that Allah bless everyone with a healthy and long life.”
